SRD R350 Application Status Expected Results

When you check your SASSA SRD status, you will get one of the following results. I will explain each result below with its meaning and the necessary steps to take:

  • Application Complete: This means that your application or reapplication process for the SRD R350 grant has been completed and it will be verified for each month before it is approved. This does not guarantee that you will receive the grant payments, but it shows that you are one step closer to receiving payments.
  • Application Approved Status: When you see “Approved Status,” it means your SASSA grant application has been accepted. You’ll get the grant money once it’s approved. You’ll be notified through SMS, email, or letter about the approval. After that, you can pick how you want to receive the money: through your bank account, Post Office account, or a cash card.
  • Declined Application Status: If your SASSA status shows Declined, it means that you did not meet the eligibility criteria and SASSA has rejected your application. SASSA will also provide you with the reason for their rejection.
  • Application Status Pending: SASSA status pending means that SASSA has received your application but they need more time to review it and verify your details before approving it. Once they complete their verifications, your status will be updated and you will receive a notification if your grant is approved or rejected.
  • Identity Verification Failed: This means that there was a problem verifying your identity. SASSA was unable to match your information with the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) records.
  • Bank Details Pending: This indicates that SASSA has received your application/reapplication, but you did not provide the banking details or have not selected a preferred payment method. You need to select your preferred method (Cash Send or Bank) or submit your banking details on the SASSA website.
  • Reapplication Pending Status: This means that you have not submitted a reapplication for the SASSA R350 grant. You should submit an application from the SRD website. The SASSA R350 grant was initially introduced in response to COVID 19, but later SASSA extended it to help their needy citizens. All unemployed and needy citizens need to reapply for the grant.
  • Period Pending Status: The period pending always shows for a specific month, e.g. “period December pending”. It means that your reapplication verification for that specific month is pending. You should check your status regularly for this month until you get the payment date.
  • Period Approved Status: The period approved always shows for a specific month, e.g. “period January approved”. It means that your application is approved for that specific month. You should look for “pay day” field to see your payment date. If the field is empty, it means the payment is not processed yet.
  • Period Declined Status: The period declined always shows for a specific month, e.g. “period October declined”. It means that SASSA has declined your application with a valid reason for that specific month. If you think the reason is invalid and you are eligible for the grant, you can submit the reconsideration request via the website.
  • Application Canceled Status: This means that your grant is canceled. If you want to reinstate your grant, it can be done from the website.
